A savory and easy-to-make appetizer or snack that combines the rich flavors of sausage, cream cheese, and flaky crescent rolls. Perfect for parties, brunch, or as a delicious treat.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 package crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional, cheddar or mozzarella works well)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks.
- Drain any excess grease from the sausage and stir in the softened cream cheese. Cook until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Season with garlic powder and black pepper if desired. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the individual triangles.
- Place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each triangle. Roll up the dough around the filling, starting from the wide end.
- Place the crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- If desired, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of each roll for an extra cheesy touch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the filling is hot.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
