Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (or 1-inch fresh turmeric root, grated)
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for taste)
- 1 cup hot water
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (helps with turmeric absorption)
- Juice of ½ a lemon (optional, for extra anti-inflammatory boost)
Instructions
- Bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil.
- Add the grated turmeric and ginger (or the powders) to the hot water.
- Let it steep for 5–10 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a cup.
- Add black pepper and stir well (this enhances the absorption of curcumin in turmeric).
- Sweeten with honey and add lemon juice if desired.
- Drink warm, preferably once daily.
