Ingredients
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (optional)
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using). Mix well.
- Add the beaten egg to the cheese mixture and stir until everything is evenly combined. The mixture should be slightly sticky but firm enough to form into small balls.
- Use your hands to shape the mixture into bite-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. You’ll need enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan, but not deep fry.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the cheese balls into the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the cheese bites from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
