Parmesan and Mozzarella Cheese Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using). Mix well.
  2. Add the beaten egg to the cheese mixture and stir until everything is evenly combined. The mixture should be slightly sticky but firm enough to form into small balls.
  3. Use your hands to shape the mixture into bite-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
  4. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. You’ll need enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan, but not deep fry.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the cheese balls into the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the cheese bites from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  7. Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
