Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 for flavor)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-style)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup (optional, for added flavor)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
🍅 For the Glaze (optional but classic):
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard or Dijon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, milk, eggs, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup (if using), salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley.
- Mix everything gently with your hands or a spoon until just combined—avoid overmixing for tender meatloaf.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to retain juices.
✅ Tips:
- You can add diced bell peppers, shredded carrots, or celery for more veggies.
- Leftovers make fantastic sandwiches the next day.
