- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Optional: Sprinkles or chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Add in the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually sift in the flour and salt, stirring until just combined. The dough will be soft and a bit crumbly.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Press each ball slightly with the back of a spoon or your fingers to flatten them a little.
- (Optional) Add a sprinkle of sprinkles or chocolate chips on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
