Melt-in-the-mouth cake: everyone will love this wonderful recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (120ml) whole milk
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting or glaze of choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch (20 cm) round or loaf cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla:
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry:
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in 2 parts, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined – don’t overmix.
  6. Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Serve:
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze if desired.

Enjoy this buttery, soft, and truly melt-in-the-mouth treat with a cup of tea or coffee! 😋
