Ingredients
- 1 large fresh lemon (preferably organic)
- 2–3 inches fresh ginger root
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons raw honey (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric (optional, for extra anti-inflammatory boost)
Instructions
- Wash the lemon thoroughly and cut it into thin slices.
- Peel the ginger root and slice it thinly or grate it for a stronger flavor.
- In a small pot, bring the 2 cups of water to a gentle boil.
- Add the sliced ginger to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Add the lemon slices and cover the pot. Let it steep for another 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a mug. Stir in raw honey and turmeric if using.
- Sip slowly while warm. Drink once or twice daily, especially when you feel a cough or cold coming on.
Tip:
For extra lung-clearing benefits, inhale the steam while the tea is steeping. Store leftover tea in a thermos or jar and gently reheat as needed.
