Ingredients

  • 1 large fresh lemon (preferably organic)
  • 2–3 inches fresh ginger root
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the lemon thoroughly and cut it into thin slices.
  2. Peel the ginger root and slice it thinly or grate it for a stronger flavor.
  3. In a small pot, bring the 2 cups of water to a gentle boil.
  4. Add the sliced ginger to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat. Add the lemon slices and cover the pot. Let it steep for another 5 minutes.
  6. Strain the tea into a mug. Stir in raw honey and turmeric if using.
