Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the lemon into thin rounds. Remove seeds if possible.
  2. Peel and grate the ginger or slice it thinly.
  3. In a small pot, bring the water to a boil.
  4. Add the lemon slices and ginger to the boiling water.
  5. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10–15 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat. Strain into a mug or jar.
  7. Add honey to taste and a pinch of cayenne if using. Stir well.
  8. Drink warm, preferably in the morning or before bed.
