Ingredients
- 1 large lemon (organic if possible)
- 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger
- 1–2 tablespoons honey (optional, for taste and soothing effect)
- 2 cups water
- A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, boosts circulation)
Instructions
- Wash and slice the lemon into thin rounds. Remove seeds if possible.
- Peel and grate the ginger or slice it thinly.
- In a small pot, bring the water to a boil.
- Add the lemon slices and ginger to the boiling water.
- Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10–15 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Strain into a mug or jar.
- Add honey to taste and a pinch of cayenne if using. Stir well.
- Drink warm, preferably in the morning or before bed.
