Ingredients
- 1 large ginger root (about 3–4 inches), peeled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons raw honey
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 4 cups water
- 1 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional, helps with turmeric absorption)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring the 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the sliced ginger and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 10–15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and add turmeric and black pepper, if using. Stir well.
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then add lemon slices.
- Once it’s warm (not hot), stir in the honey.
- Strain the tea into a mug or glass container.
- Drink warm 1–2 times a day, especially in the morning and before bedtime.
Tips:
- Store any leftover tea in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat as needed.
- Consistent use can support lung health and reduce coughing over time.
