Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or canned peaches, drained)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for batter)
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix peaches, brown sugar, 1 cup granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 cup granulated sugar. Stir in milk and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter (do not stir).
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream!
