Ingredients
- 1 medium ginger root (about 2 inches), peeled and sliced thin
- 1–1.5 liters (4–6 cups) of water
- Juice of 1 lemon (optional, for added flavor and benefits)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for taste)
Instructions
- Boil the Water: In a pot, bring the water to a boil.
- Add Ginger: Once boiling, add the sliced ginger and reduce the heat to a simmer.
- Simmer: Let the ginger simmer for about 10–15 minutes. The longer it simmers, the stronger the flavor.
- Strain: Remove from heat and strain the mixture into a pitcher or glass container.
- Optional Add-ins: Add lemon juice and honey if desired, and stir well.
- Cool and Store: Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate.
- Drink: Drink a glass first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and throughout the day for best results.
