Garlic Shrimp Pasta

This Garlic Shrimp Pasta is a delightful and simple dish that combines tender shrimp with a garlicky, buttery sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. It’s quick to make, perfect for a weeknight meal, but elegant enough for special occasions. Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon for a refreshing finish.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges for serving
  • Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp: While the pasta cooks, season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: In the same pan, add butter and garlic, cooking until fragrant (about 30 seconds to 1 minute). If using red pepper flakes, add them now.
  4. Make the Sauce: Pour in the white wine (if using) and let it reduce for 1-2 minutes. Add the broth and bring it to a simmer, allowing it to reduce slightly for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the pan, and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Add the cooked pasta, tossing everything together until well combined.
  6. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, stir in fresh parsley, and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Serve hot, with optional Parmesan and lemon wedges on the side.
