Ingredients
For the Cake Layers:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar

- ¾ cup Nutella
- ½ cup chopped roasted hazelnuts

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
For the Ferrero Rocher Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup Nutella
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup finely chopped hazelnuts
For Decoration:
- 6-8 Ferrero Rocher chocolates, halved
- Extra chopped hazelnuts
- Chocolate shavings
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Layers:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar, and oil until combined. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and buttermilk, mixing until smooth. Stir in hot coffee.
- Divide batter between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Make the Ganache:
- Heat heavy cream until steaming (but not boiling), then pour over chopped chocolate. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth. Let cool until slightly thickened.
- Prepare the Frosting:
- Beat butter until fluffy. Add powdered sugar gradually, then mix in Nutella and heavy cream until smooth. Stir in finely chopped hazelnuts.
- Assemble the Cake:
- Place one cake layer on a plate. Spread Nutella evenly and sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts.
- Add the second cake layer and frost the entire cake with Nutella frosting.
- Decorate:
- Pour chocolate ganache over the top, letting it drip down the sides.
- Garnish with Ferrero Rocher chocolates, extra hazelnuts, and chocolate shavings.
- Chill & Serve:
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing. Enjoy!
