Bread in 20 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for slight sweetness)
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for cooking if pan-frying)

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in warm water and olive oil. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide and Shape: Divide dough into 4-6 equal parts and shape into flat discs or small rounds, depending on preference.
  5. Cook:
    • Pan-fry method: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Brush with a little olive oil. Cook each piece for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden and cooked through.
    • Oven method: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden.

Tips:

  • Add herbs or garlic powder for extra flavor.
  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle sea salt on top after cooking for a tasty finish.
