Ingredients

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp almond flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • ½ tsp nigella seeds / kalonji (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the Cheese
In a microwave-safe bowl, add mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave for about 40–60 seconds until melted.
  2. Mix the Dough
Add egg, almond flour, baking powder, and salt to the melted cheese. Mix well until a soft dough forms.
  3. Shape the Naan
Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it into a naan shape or oval flatbread.
  4. Add Topping
Sprinkle sesame seeds and kalonji on top and gently press them into the dough.
  5. Cook the Naan
Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat. Cook the naan for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden.
  6. Brush with Butter
Remove from the pan and brush with melted butter for the classic Roghni flavor.
  7. Serve Warm
Serve hot with kebabs, curry, or yogurt sauce.

Tips

  • Use low-moisture mozzarella for the best dough texture.
  • If the dough becomes sticky, lightly grease your hands with oil.
  • You can bake it in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes instead of pan-cooking.
  • Add garlic butter or chopped coriander for extra flavor.
  • Best served fresh and warm for the softest texture.
