Yummy Strawberries Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round or square cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Arrange sliced strawberries evenly on top of the batter. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar.
