Ingredients
- 1 container (125g) plain yogurt (use the container to measure other ingredients)
- 1 container vegetable oil
- 2 containers granulated sugar
- 3 containers all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1 packet (about 10–12g) baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Zest of 1 lemon or orange (optional for extra flavor)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a loaf pan or round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, pour the yogurt. Use the empty yogurt container to measure and add the sugar and oil.
- Add eggs and whisk well until the mixture is smooth and pale.
- Stir in vanilla extract and lemon/orange zest, if using.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, folding gently until no lumps remain.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Tap the pan lightly to remove air bubbles.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
