Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

For the Vanilla Cream Filling:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
    • Add melted butter, egg, salt, and flour. Mix until a dough forms.
    • Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Shape the Rolls:
    • Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick.
    • Cut into strips and roll each strip into a spiral. Place on a lined baking sheet.
    • Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  3. Bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool completely.
  4. Make the Vanilla Cream Filling:
    • Beat heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fill the Rolls:
    • Slice each roll in half and pipe or spread the vanilla cream inside.
  6. Prepare the Glaze & Finish:
    • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Drizzle over the filled rolls and serve!
