Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm milk (110°F)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
For the Vanilla Cream Filling:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, salt, and flour. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Rolls:
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick.
- Cut into strips and roll each strip into a spiral. Place on a lined baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool completely.
- Make the Vanilla Cream Filling:
- Beat heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Fill the Rolls:
- Slice each roll in half and pipe or spread the vanilla cream inside.
- Prepare the Glaze & Finish:
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle over the filled rolls and serve!
