INGREDIENTS
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (or 1-inch fresh turmeric root, grated)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- A pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Warm the water in a small pot but do not boil.
- Add turmeric powder (or grated turmeric) to the water and stir well.
- Let it steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain into a cup if using fresh turmeric.
- Add lemon juice, honey, and a pinch of black pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Drink warm, preferably in the morning or before meals.
