Try This Quick Recipe for Honey and Garlic Chicken — Crispy on the Outside, Tender on the Inside

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • Optional: chopped green onions & sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Lightly coat with cornstarch.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the chicken for about 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy, and fully cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Stir and let the sauce bubble for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over it, turning to coat well.
  7. Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Serve hot with rice or steamed veggies!
