Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or your favorite add-ins)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls (about 1.5 tbsp each) onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and centers are set.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Optional: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt right after baking for a gourmet twist!
