This bread is like a hug from the inside

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F / 45°C)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg

For the Cinnamon Filling:

  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

Optional Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar (1 tbsp from the total), and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Make the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a sticky dough forms. Knead by hand or with a mixer for 8–10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  3. First Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare the Filling:
Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl until it forms a spreadable paste.
  5. Roll and Fill:
Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle (about 9×14 inches). Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough. Roll up tightly from the short end like a jelly roll.
  6. Second Rise:
Place the rolled dough into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Cover and let it rise again for 30–45 minutes.
  7. Bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. Cool and Glaze (Optional):
Let the bread cool for 10–15 minutes. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over the warm bread.

Enjoy warm, with a pat of butter or just as it is—like a cozy hug with every bite! 🥰🍞
