Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup whole milk (warm)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer on high speed for about 5–7 minutes until thick, pale, and fluffy.
- Gently fold in the sifted dry ingredients in batches, mixing slowly to keep the batter airy.
- Combine the warm milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Slowly pour this mixture into the batter, folding gently until smooth and well incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and tap lightly to remove air bubbles.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar or frost as desired. Enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth softness!
