THE PIZZA BURGER PIE!

Ingredients

For the crust:

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough or crescent dough sheet

For the filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara sauce)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni or cooked sausage (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
  • Optional: crushed red pepper, chopped basil, or parmesan for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or round baking pan.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and pizza sauce. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough and gently press it into the bottom and sides of the prepared pie dish, leaving a bit of overhang.
  4. Spoon the beef mixture evenly into the dough-lined dish. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top. Add pepperoni or sausage if using.
  5. Fold over any extra dough from the edges and optionally crimp it. Brush the dough edges with olive oil for a golden crust.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with optional crushed red pepper, basil, or parmesan.
  8. Slice and serve warm like a pizza pie!
