Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup sour cream or plain yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
- Cream Butter & Sugar – In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Wet Ingredients – Mix in the eggs, one at a time. Stir in the orange juice, zest, vanilla, and sour cream.
- Mix Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Bake – Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool & Serve – Let the cake cool before serving. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or top with an orange glaze.
