- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup (120ml) whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf or round cake pan. - Cream Butter & Sugar:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. - Add Eggs & Vanilla:
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract. - Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. - Combine Wet & Dry:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. - Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. - Cool & Serve:
Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
