- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ cup (120ml) milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs & Flavor: Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
