Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the sugar and corn syrup. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a boil. Let it boil for about 1 minute.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the peanut butter until it’s fully melted and combined.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the mixture and stir until the cereal is fully coated.
- Press the cereal mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chips are melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the Rice Krispies layer in the pan, spreading it evenly.
- Let the scotcheroos cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares.
