Texas Roadhouse Rolls!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (more for dusting)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for brushing
  • 1/4 cup honey (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yeast Mixture: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir to dissolve the yeast and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining sugar, melted butter, salt, and eggs. Stir in the yeast mixture once it’s frothy. Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing after each addition until a soft dough forms. You may need to use your hands towards the end.
  3. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. You can add a little more flour if the dough is too sticky.
  4. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Shape the Rolls: Punch the dough down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spacing them out evenly.
  6. Second Rise: Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for about 30 minutes, or until they have doubled in size again.
  7. Bake the Rolls: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
  8. Brush with Butter: Once out of the oven, brush the warm rolls with melted butter and drizzle with honey for extra sweetness.
  9. Serve: Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with butter or your favorite dipping sauce!

These rolls are soft, fluffy, and perfect for any occasion. Enjoy!
