Ingredients
- 2–3 large sweet onions (like Vidalia), sliced into thick rings
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare onions: Peel and slice the onions into thick ¼–½ inch rings. Separate the rings and layer them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Season: Drizzle melted butter over the onions. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and thyme if using.
- Add cheese: Evenly top with mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Let cool slightly, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
