- 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
- 1 lb breakfast sausage (or bacon, cooked and crumbled)
- 1 small onion, diced (optional)
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Cooking spray or butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease. If using onion, add and sauté until softened.
- Assemble Casserole: Spread the cooked sausage evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the sausage.
- Add Tater Tots: Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the sausage and cheese.
- Mix Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Pour: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the tater tots. Top with the remaining shredded cheese.
- Bake: Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
