Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped lettuce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes (optional)
  • Tortilla chips (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning mix and follow the instructions on the seasoning packet (usually adding a bit of water). Let it simmer until fully coated and thickened.
  3. Prepare the Crust:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish, spreading it out to cover the bottom and sides.
  4. Layer the Pie:
Spread the cooked taco meat evenly over the dough. Add a layer of salsa, then sprinkle both the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese on top.
  5. Bake the Pie:
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Add Toppings:
Once baked, remove the pie from the oven. Let it cool slightly, then top with sour cream, chopped onions, lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, or any of your favorite taco toppings.
  7. Serve:
Cut into slices and serve warm, garnished with tortilla chips for a crunchy finish.

Enjoy your flavorful Taco Pie!
