Sweet and Spicy Glazed Meatballs Recipe

These tender meatballs are coated in a sweet and spicy glaze that packs a punch. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a party appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • For the meatballs:
    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 1/2 pound ground pork
    • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes  
  • For the glaze:
    • 1/2 cup ketchup
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon Sriracha
    • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

Instructions:

  1. Make the meatballs: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well until just combined.
  2. Shape the meatballs: Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Bake the meatballs: Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  4. Make the glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, Sriracha, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until thickened.
  5. Glaze the meatballs: Remove the meatballs from the oven and toss in the glaze to coat.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as rice, pasta, or vegetables.
