Ingredients
- 3 medium apples (peeled, sliced)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp cinnamon powder
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder (optional but traditional)
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a round cake pan.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Mix in vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Add milk and mix gently.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Arrange apple slices on top in a decorative pattern.
- Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the apples.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
