Ingredients
- 1 box (15.25 oz) white or yellow cake mix
- 1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened and cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional for extra flavor)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional, if you like it sweeter)
- Optional topping: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer the bottom of the dish with the strawberry pie filling, spreading it evenly.
- Add cream cheese cubes evenly on top of the pie filling. Sprinkle with sugar and a touch of vanilla extract if using.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese and filling—do not mix it in.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix layer. Try to cover as much of the surface as possible.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Cool slightly before serving. Top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
