Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake Recipe

This easy dump cake combines the flavors of strawberry cheesecake with minimal effort. It’s perfect for a quick dessert!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (15-ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 (21-ounce) can strawberry pie filling
  • 1 (18.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened and cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer Pineapple and Pie Filling: Pour the undrained crushed pineapple into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Then, spoon the strawberry pie filling over the pineapple, also spreading it evenly.
  3. Sprinkle Cake Mix: Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the strawberry pie filling. Do not mix.
  4. Add Cream Cheese: Distribute the softened cream cheese cubes evenly over the dry cake mix.
  5. Pour Melted Butter: Slowly pour the melted butter evenly over the entire surface of the cake mix. Try to get the butter to cover as much of the dry cake mix as possible.
  6. Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set. The cream cheese will melt and create a cheesecake-like layer.
  7. Cool and Serve: Let the cake cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. You can serve it warm or cold. Optional: Top with whipped cream or a dusting of powdered sugar.

Tips and Variations:

  • For a richer flavor, use a cream cheese flavored cake mix.
  • You can substitute other fruit pie fillings, such as blueberry or cherry.
  • If you would like to have a graham cracker crust, you can put down a layer of graham cracker crumbs before the pineapple.
  • If you would like to add nuts, you can add chopped pecans or walnuts to the top of the cake before baking.
  • Ensure that the cream cheese is softened, this allows for easier distribution, and melting.
