Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or sesame oil)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for a slight sweetness)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, and honey. Set aside.
- Blanch the broccoli: Bring a pot of water to boil. Add broccoli florets and cook for 1–2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the shrimp: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, season with a little salt and pepper, and stir-fry until pink and cooked through (about 2–3 minutes). Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
- Stir-fry: Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same pan. Add garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Combine everything: Add the broccoli and shrimp back to the pan. Pour in the sauce and toss everything together until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp and broccoli (about 1–2 minutes).
- Serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot over rice or noodles!
