Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) pork belly, thinly sliced
- 1/2 lb (225g) okra, trimmed and cut diagonally
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients:
Rinse and slice the pork belly. Wash and cut the okra diagonally. Mince garlic and slice the onion. - Sear the Pork Belly:
In a large pan or wok over medium-high heat, add the cooking oil. Once hot, add the pork belly. Stir-fry until the edges are browned and fat is rendered, about 5–7 minutes. - Add Aromatics:
Add the minced garlic and sliced onion to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant and translucent. - Season the Pork:
Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and a pinch of pepper. Mix well to coat the pork. - Add the Okra:
Toss in the sliced okra. Stir-fry for 3–5 minutes until just tender but still crisp. Season with salt to taste. - Finish Up:
(Optional) Drizzle sesame oil over the dish and give a final stir. - Serve:
Transfer to a plate and serve hot with steamed rice.
