Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs Recipe


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 racks pork ribs (about 3-4 lbs)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Green onions & sesame seeds for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare the Ribs:
    • Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs.
    • Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the Ribs:
    • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
    • Wrap ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet.
    • Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.
  3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
    • In a saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
    • Add honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
    • Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  4. Glaze the Ribs:
    • Once ribs are tender, remove from oven and unwrap.
    • Brush sauce generously over the ribs.
  5. Broil or Grill:
    • Place ribs under broiler for 5-7 minutes or grill over medium-high heat until caramelized and sticky. Keep an eye to prevent burning.
    • Brush with extra sauce as needed.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Slice into individual ribs.
    • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
    • Serve hot with extra sauce on the side.
