Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 2–3 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp oil

For the Sticky Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (for thickening)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prep the Ribs:
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Pat dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Bake the Ribs:
    • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
    • Wrap ribs tightly in foil and place on a baking sheet.
    • Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
    • Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
    • Add cornstarch slurry and stir until thickened (about 1–2 minutes). Remove from heat.
  4. Grill or Broil:
    • Once ribs are tender, remove from foil and place on a grill or under a broiler.
    • Brush generously with the honey garlic sauce.
    • Cook for 5–8 minutes, flipping and brushing again until caramelized and sticky.
  5. Serve:
Let ribs rest for a few minutes. Slice and serve with extra sauce on the side.
