Ingredients
- 2 racks of pork ribs (about 3-4 pounds)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Sticky Honey Garlic Sauce:
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Prep the Ribs: Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs for more tender results. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
- Season: Rub the ribs with salt, pepper, paprika, and olive oil. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes while you prepare the sauce.
- Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, minced garlic, and vinegar. Bring to a gentle simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. If you’d like it thicker, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Bake the Ribs: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the ribs on the rack, meat side up. Brush generously with some of the honey garlic sauce. Cover the ribs with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, basting with sauce halfway through.
- Finish & Caramelize: Remove the foil, brush with more sauce, and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C). Bake for another 15-20 minutes, basting once more, until the ribs are sticky and caramelized.
- Serve: Let the ribs rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice between the bones and brush with any remaining sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
