- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon oil
For the Sticky Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce (optional but adds depth)
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water (for thickening)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ribs:
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs for tenderness.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Bake the Ribs:
- Wrap ribs in foil and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 2.5–3 hours or until ribs are tender.
- Make the Sauce:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, add oil and sauté garlic and ginger for 1–2 minutes.
- Add honey, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and vinegar. Stir well.
- Simmer for 5 minutes. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir into the sauce.
- Continue cooking until thickened (about 2–3 minutes). Add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Glaze and Broil:
- Once ribs are tender, remove from foil and brush generously with the sticky sauce.
- Broil for 3–5 minutes until caramelized and sticky, watching closely to avoid burning.
- Serve:
- Slice between the bones and drizzle with extra sauce.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds (optional).
