Ingredients
- 2 to 3 pounds pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
- Chopped green onions & sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the Ribs:
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs for better tenderness.
- Season ribs generously with salt and pepper.
- Place ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet and cover tightly with foil.
- Bake the Ribs:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.
- Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- While ribs are baking, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and ketchup.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- For thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer an additional 2 minutes.
- Glaze & Broil:
- Once ribs are tender, remove from oven and discard foil.
- Brush a generous amount of honey garlic sauce over the ribs.
- Broil ribs for 4–5 minutes until caramelized and sticky. Watch closely to avoid burning.
- Repeat brushing and broiling for extra flavor.
- Serve:
- Slice between bones, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired, and serve warm with extra sauce on the side.
