Ingredient
- 6 fresh lemons (you’ll need about 1 cup lemon juice)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 5 cups cold water (divided)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Roll the lemons on the counter with your palm to loosen the juice, then slice in half and juice them until you get 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Remove seeds.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves completely (about 2–3 minutes). This is your simple syrup.
- In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and the simple syrup. Stir well.
- Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water and stir again. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness if desired by adding more water or sugar.
- Refrigerate until cold, or serve immediately over a glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices for that extra fair flair!
