The shift leader must be a swimming intermediate (2nd division) (Preferably Ex. Armed Forces Persons).
Paramedics having an Intermediate (2nd Division) Certificate in Emergency Medical Services.

The driver must be at least 22 years old, have a valid LTV/HTV licence, and be able to read and write. Assisting a river driver requires reading comprehension and at least six months of swimming experience.
