Soft & Fluffy Chocolate Filled Bombs Recipe

These decadent treats are perfect for a cozy afternoon or a special occasion. The soft and fluffy chocolate bombs are filled with a rich, creamy chocolate ganache, creating a delightful explosion of flavor when you bite into them.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted  
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate ganache filling (recipe below)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Make the chocolate ganache:
    • In a saucepan, combine 1 cup heavy cream and 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips.
    • Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
    • Remove from heat and let cool slightly before filling the bombs.
  2. Prepare the batter:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.  
  3. Assemble the bombs:
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
    • Use the back of a spoon to flatten each spoonful into a disc.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still slightly soft.
    • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
  4. Fill the bombs:
    • Once the bombs are cool enough to handle, carefully flip them over.
    • Spoon a generous amount of chocolate ganache onto the center of each bomb.
    • Top with another bomb, pressing gently to seal.
  5. Dust and serve:
    • Dust the bombs with powdered sugar and serve immediately.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips for the ganache.
  • To make the bombs ahead of time, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • For a fun twist, add a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of chocolate shavings to the top of each bomb.
