INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp oil
For Filling (Optional):
- 1 cup boiled shredded chicken / vegetables / cheese
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise or cream
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp chili flakes
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it rest for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, egg, butter, and oil. Knead into a soft dough.
- Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour until double in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide into equal balls.
- Flatten each ball and add stuffing in the center.
- Seal properly and shape into rolls.
- Place rolls on a greased baking tray. Cover and rest for 20 minutes.
- Brush with egg wash or milk.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes until golden.
- Brush with butter after baking for extra softness.
TIPS
- Use warm milk, not hot, to activate yeast properly.
- Do not overfill, or rolls may open while baking.
- For softer rolls, cover with cloth after baking.
- You can use sweet or savory filling as desired.
- Store in an airtight container to keep fresh.
