Ingredients
- Fresh eggs (as many as you need)
- Water (enough to cover the eggs)
- Secret ingredient: 1–2 teaspoons of baking soda
Instructions
- Place your eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water.
- Add 1–2 teaspoons of baking soda to the water.
- Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, cover the pot with a lid, remove from heat, and let the eggs sit for 10–12 minutes.
- When time’s up, transfer the eggs to an ice bath and let them cool for at least 5–10 minutes.
- Gently tap and peel — the shells should slip right off!
Tip: Baking soda raises the pH level of the egg whites, making them separate more easily from the shell.
