  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • Crushed tortilla chips, for topping
  • Fresh cilantro (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  2. Layer the salad:
In a large clear glass bowl or trifle dish, start layering:
    • Layer 1: Chopped lettuce
    • Layer 2: Black beans
    • Layer 3: Cooked taco-seasoned beef
    • Layer 4: Cherry tomatoes
    • Layer 5: Guacamole
    • Layer 6: Sour cream
    • Layer 7: Shredded cheddar cheese
  3. Top it off:
Spoon salsa over the cheese, then sprinkle with black olives, green onions, and crushed tortilla chips.
  4. Chill or serve right away:
Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes if desired, or serve immediately for maximum crunch.
  5. Garnish (optional):
Top with fresh cilantro and extra chips on the side.
