Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup guacamole
- 1 cup salsa
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- Crushed tortilla chips, for topping
- Fresh cilantro (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Let cool slightly. - Layer the salad:
In a large clear glass bowl or trifle dish, start layering:- Layer 1: Chopped lettuce
- Layer 2: Black beans
- Layer 3: Cooked taco-seasoned beef
- Layer 4: Cherry tomatoes
- Layer 5: Guacamole
- Layer 6: Sour cream
- Layer 7: Shredded cheddar cheese
- Top it off:
Spoon salsa over the cheese, then sprinkle with black olives, green onions, and crushed tortilla chips. - Chill or serve right away:
Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes if desired, or serve immediately for maximum crunch. - Garnish (optional):
Top with fresh cilantro and extra chips on the side.
