- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
- Mix the sugar and eggs in a separate bowl until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract.
- Combine the mixtures by gradually adding the melted chocolate to the egg mixture, stirring continuously.
- Sift together the dry ingredients (flour, salt, cocoa powder, and baking powder) and fold them into the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out slightly moist.
- Prepare the topping by heating the heavy cream and pouring it over chocolate chips. Stir until smooth, then drizzle over the baked dessert.
