Ingredients:
- 1 medium head of green cabbage
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Optional toppings: grated Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme), or a squeeze of lemon juice
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Cabbage: Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Slice the cabbage into ¾-inch thick steaks, cutting from top to bottom. You should get about 4-6 steaks from one head.
- Season the Steaks: Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle olive oil over both sides of each steak, ensuring they are well coated. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the cabbage steaks.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the steaks halfway through. Bake until the edges are crispy and the center is tender.
- Serve: Remove the cabbage steaks from the oven. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs. Serve warm as a side dish or enjoy them on their own!
